Suubi Africa Children's Choir
In August last year, the Suubi Africa Children's Choir was born! This begun as one of the activities at our Saturday Club but has become much more than that, taking on a life of its own! The children simply love to sing and dance. There are about 50 children in the choir led by Esther. Esther has had many years of experience with the African Children's Choir, both by being a child in the choir and by helping out with new choirs as she got older.
She has formed a special group of 15 talented children ranging in age from 8 to 13. She has taught them some native and english songs, with lots of dancing and actions! She has bought a tradional drum set and a couple of children are learning to play them. They performed a concert at a local church on Christmas Eve, which went really well.
We are planning to bring these 15 children over to the UK for a short tour to perform in the North East. This will be an amazing life changing experience for them. Anyone who sees the choir will not fail to be touched by these children. More details on the tour will be available later in the year, but if you would like to know any information now or are interested in hosting the choir then please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
